My Goals for Generational Change: The Silence Ends With Us
Family silence — the kind that avoids hard conversations and hides painful truths — must be broken.
We are the first generation with both the language and the neuroscience to name and transform inherited trauma. That awareness gives us a responsibility - and a choice.
We must recognise the unspoken rules passed down in our families: the pressure to stay quiet, to protect dysfunction, to only be valued if we don’t speak about what hurt us.
But silence is not safety.
Silence is how trauma survives.
We are the generation who can change that.
By choosing to confront what was once buried, we lay the foundation for a new legacy - one where future generations inherit emotional health, personal agency, meaningful careers, and authentic relationships.
Toxic stress does not need to be our inheritance.
Without action, the mental health crisis will continue. But with intention, education, and compassion - we can end it.
Join me in creating generational change by breaking the cycle of unspoken trauma.
It starts with one voice. Yours counts.

Personal | Vision | Statement
At the beginning of my study for my counselling qualifications I was encouraged to do a personal vision statement. This vision statement was written long before I heard the words Complex Ptsd or Childhood Developmental Trauma. However, as you can see today, they have stood the test of time because I learnt to base my decisions on my core values and my personal vision statement.
"I choose to walk each day with integrity, service, respect, excellence and compassion. I remain focused on my life’s purpose and pursue opportunities for education with personal and professional growth in order to write, teach and develop quality products and services for a Global audience seeking practical solutions to Complex Trauma. The intergenerational silence has to cease."
You can begin yours today by taking it slowly and following the ideas on this page 5 Examples of a Personal Vision Statement.
