Developmental Trauma in Plain Sight

When your client doesn't recognise developmental trauma in their childhood, where do you begin?

Your client tells you their childhood was normal. But then they describe losing their words when someone raises their voice. Agreeing to things before they know what they want. Finding it easier to manage everything themselves than risk depending on somebody else.

These everyday experiences may offer an opportunity to begin exploring what their developing brain learned, long before they had the words to understand it.

Developmental Trauma in Plain Sight is a 25 page practitioner guide designed to help you introduce developmental trauma through the experiences your adult clients already recognise.

NeuroSynqt™ Practitioner Guide

Helping clients recognise what they have lived

Many adults with CPtsd don't initially describe their childhood as traumatic. They describe themselves as too sensitive, too independent, difficult in relationships or unable to cope with things that other people seem to manage.

And sometimes those descriptions have been part of their understanding of themselves for decades.

How do we help someone explore the developmental experiences underneath these patterns without telling them what their childhood meant or assuming that every difficulty is trauma related?

This is where the guide begins.

Using accessible brain based language, practical questions and familiar everyday examples, it helps you introduce developmental trauma at your client's pace, beginning with what they are experiencing now.

The emphasis is on curiosity, understanding and giving clients room to recognise what does, and doesn't, fit their own experience.

Bring developmental trauma into the conversation

Sometimes the starting point isn't asking a client to revisit their childhood.

It's becoming curious about something that happened yesterday, recognising what became difficult in that moment and exploring what their brain may have learned through earlier experiences.

Developmental Trauma in Plain Sight gives you a practical resource for beginning those conversations within your professional role and at your client's pace.

"Linda Meredith is a powerhouse when it comes to bringing research and information together to help us understand complex trauma. More importantly, she breaks things down in a way that is easily accessible with a program that is uber flexible.  The homework isn't about regurgitating information or memorizing terminology, but rather how we can embody the knowledge while healing from complex trauma ourselves.  An incredibly generous professional Linda prolifically creates beautiful templates, workbooks, and packettes of information to make it easier for coaches to run their business. I feel as though I have Linda 24/7 in my back pocket supporting me to do what I need to do for my clients. Linda Meredith is a gift to the world and this one-of-a-kind complex trauma certificate program is exactly what I need at this point in my life. Thanks Linda for what you do!"

I had been in and out of therapy for over 30 years. As a psychologist myself, I was perplexed on why I was going consistently to therapy but not feeling any progress.

Linda helped me experience growth that once felt unimaginable. Her knowledge of trauma and trauma recovery is amazing!

Linda always respects my point of view and beliefs without judgement. Most importantly, Linda made me feel heard, seen, understood and cared for.  The time I've spent working with Linda have been the most valuable of my life.  I now feel equipped to do things differently. It's been the most liberating and empowering experience and I've learned things that will stay with me forever. Thank you Linda!
